Naive Portrait of Young Man, circa 1825-1840- Fantastic, bold colored portrait of a young, affluent man.  Wonderful background, including landscape and drape with a grained period chair.  This painting is in excellent shape.  Under blacklight, there is no inpainting.  There is only one small apology on the painting and you can see by the back view that there was a small repair.  It appears to have been more of a crease than a tear.  The man has a stickpin in his cravate and a flower in his lapel.  The frame is a later frame, but the canvas and stretcher are all original.  Proudly offered at a fair price of  $1795
Miniature Portrait, circa 1830- Watercolor on heavy cardstock.  There is a faint pencil mark on the back of the portrait with the sitters name and the Age 22.  Done very much in the style of Gillespie, active until about 1838.  Overall excellent condition.  Price $495
Hudson River Valley oil on board, circa 1870-  Wonderful early and Naive Hudson River Valley School with all the classic elements.  There is also an Historical Reference in this painting.  It shows the ship with sails, on the shore, with the sails down and the Steamboat, navigating the river.  It is a testimony to the passing of the technologies.  Very Symbolic.  This great painting is being offered at  Price $299
Folk Art Landscape- Wonderful 19th Century Farm Scene with all the elements you look for in a Naive Painting.  Oil on Board, this painting is in excellent condition with no In-Painting.  Very fairly priced at $599.
Wm. Matthew Prior Portrait of Young Woman, signed and dated, 1864.  Oil  on Artist Board.  Large size measures 18" by 22" sight size.  Mounted is what appears to be the original Mahogany Veneer Frame.  Issues include scattered inpainting and crack of the board in lower right.

19th Century Portraits of the Gleasons of Cohasset Massachusetts, Completely Original, circa 1840-  These portraits are from our personal collection.  They are original including canvas, stretchers and gilt frame.  There is absolutely NO INPAINTING or restoration.  They blacklight beautifully.  The colors are bold and they are a handsome couple .  Although the artist is not identified, these portraits are typical of the period itinerant artist of the time.  The size of the portraits including frame are 31.5" by 36.5".

Portrait on Mattress Ticking, Circa 1825- Wonderful Early portrait of attractive young woman on mattress ticking.  The painting is in wonderful condition with only one very small restoration.  It maintains its original stretcher and period paint decorated frame.  The colors are strong and the detail is magnificent.  The woman  has a comb in her hair and is dressed in a wonderful dress with blue and white lace.  This painting was in a prominent collection.  The site size is 24" by 27".  The overall dimensions, including frame are 29" by 33".  Fairly priced at $2595.00
American School, Mid 19th Century Ship Genre Oil on Canvas Painting.  Coastal scene of New York, with Trinity Church and the original Federal Capital Building in the background.  Multiple ships including the primary mast ship flying the American Flag.  Signed "JB" in the lower right corner.  The painting has been stabilized with a Wax backing.  Under blacklight, the only variations are in the crackleure.   Dimensions are 20" by 24" sight size and is mounted in a period appropriate contemporary frame.  There is a tag in the back indicating that this portrait is part of a registry at the Smithsonian.  Priced at  $ 3995.00
Watercolor, Rose Tree, circa 1830-1850:  New England watercolor in the style of the Hancock Shakers.  This watercolor has great color and has a rose tree over a wonderful verse.  See examples of Hannah Cohoon's Tree of Life paintings in Lippmans "The Flowering of American Folk Art." Oil on Wood Panel Portrait of a Peaceful Older Woman, circa 1830- The woman is seated in a nice period and highly decorated chair.  This portrait has a possible attribution to Z. Belknap.  The face shows similar characteristics including the nose.  Other similar features include the gray painting of the panel back and scoring of the panel to simulate canvas.  Great condition with no inpainting.  There is no frame.  SOLD
